While much of the music in April and June is from well known names, we are proud to be performing unduly neglected composers.
In April we do that with Still’s Afro-American Symphony, a work which is a melting pot of jazz, blues, traditional and orchestral musical style.
Romeo and Juliet are given two representations in April, from Tchaikovsky and Leonard Bernstein and we are thrilled to be welcoming Peter Dixon from the BBC Philharmonic to perform Bloch’s beautiful Schelomo - the centrepiece of a programme that shines a light on the rich variety of orchestral styles.
Conductor: Benjamin Ellin
